Al Shohub Private School was founded in 1999, by Her Highness Sheikha Shaikha bint Saif Al Nahyan, in order to ensure the availability of outstanding girls’ education in Abu Dhabi.

At Al Shohub we provide students with the Ministry of Education Arabic Language, Social Studies and Islamic Studies curriculum for native Arabic speakers, in conjunction with the English National Curriculum, tailored for the UAE.

The Role

We are seeking to appoint, a well-qualified, enthusiastic and passionate secondary Humanities specialist, for an immediate start. The successful applicant will be able to teach both Geography and History and be a model of excellent practice, maintaining a clear focus on outstanding delivery to learners ensuring a centre of best practice and excellence. The Humanities Department plays a central role in the success of the school and embraces inquisitive learning with the aim of encouraging students to be critical, caring, creative and collaborative thinkers.

The ideal candidate must possess an in-depth knowledge of the Humanities National Curriculum at KS3 level, and have experience of teaching History and/or Geography at GCSE and A-Level. It would be highly advantageous to have a second subject either in Sociology and/or Travel and Tourism.

Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of how to use student data effectively to inform their teaching and ensure student learning and progress. We are looking for an educator who understands how students learn, has a deep knowledge of their subject and discipline, and utilises evidence based teaching. Candidates should be proactive, widely read, experienced and emotionally mature practitioners, who will work with our students to engender a deep and reflective approach to learning, to enable them to become the UAE leaders of the future. 

Essential Requirements

  • FEMALE APPLICANTS ONLY
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or other relevant field with a teaching qualification specialising in Humanities with a second subject in either Sociology and/or Travel and Tourism
  • Experience teaching the National Curriculum for England in the UK or an international setting
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience

Al Shohub Private School was founded in 1999 by Her Highness Sheikha Shaikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan to provide exceptional education in Abu Dhabi.

We are located in the heart of Khalifa City in Abu Dhabi in a purpose-built educational facility. Al Shohub is a British curriculum through school offering places from FS to Year 13 with co-ed provision from FS to Year 6 and an all-girls environment in secondary.
