Vision for Education are actively seeking to recruit for a Teaching Assistant who has existing experience within a Secondary School environment, in a behaviour support capacity to work in a fantastic school south of Sheffield with Students aged 11 - 16. 

The role

This excellent opportunity would be ideal for someone who is seeking a teaching assistant role in that specialises in working with students with behavioural challenges, some stemming from varying Special Educational needs and disabilities. 

The school itself are taking a huge step forward in the management, this role can be challenging but is also very rewarding. The ideal person would be someone who has a nurturing yet resilient approach within the classroom, it is essential that you have previous experience in this area.

The school

Set in South Sheffield, this school focuses on ensuring a nurturing approach to teaching and learning, always looking for new ways to ensure their students are engaged in education, and accessing quality learning. Most recently, the school have opened a small on site provision providing a split academic and vocational learning programme for students who are disfranchised from mainstream education and require deeper intervention.

Requirements 

To be considered for the position of Teaching Assistant (Secondary), you will:

  • At least 3 months experience in a Secondary School. SEMH or PRU setting
  • Ideally have your team teach level 2 training or be willing to complete our course
  • Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS which is registered to the update service – or be willing to complete a new DBS with Vision for Education.
  • Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of specialist teachers  
  • Have a passion for supporting students and teachers, with the ability to work in small groups and on a 121 basis
