We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated site care/security assistant to join the site care team who help to maintain the college premises. If successful, you will be responsible for locking and opening up during evening and weekend lettings.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manning the College entrance gate opening and locking up during evening and weekend external lettings.
  • Carrying out regular and frequent patrols along the front of the College and around the College premises, according to the College security rotas
  • Checking that visitors have genuine reason for their presence on the College site and ensuring that all visitors report to reception
  • Taking all reasonable steps to minimise the danger posed by intruders to college staff and students
  • Locking, unlocking of doors and gates at appropriate times.
  • Carrying out minor repairs, refurbishments and decorating work within limits of competence
  • Report all potential hazards to Site Manager
  • Keep drains, gullies, inspection chambers free from blockages
  • Keep all fire doors, escape routes clear from obstruction
  • Clear snow and/or ice from entrances, exits and communication routes to provide safe access/egress for pedestrians, emergency vehicles and essential deliveries
  • Switch on/off lights as necessary at night.
  • Assist in arranging for access to the site, all authorised users
