Job overview

About Us

Aspire is an academy trust led by Debra Rutley NLE. We have three AP schools in Buckinghamshire, a nurture school, a hospital teaching service, a medical needs and home tuition service, as well as leading a number of outreach and wellbeing projects in schools across the county. Shortenills opened in September 2021 and currently has three classes of students with EHCPs for SEMH. We have had huge interest in the school and are therefore opening another class to respond to growing demand.

About You

We are looking for a teacher who will be able to help us further develop this new provision, as well as teach in it. Our ideal teachers might be from a primary or secondary background. You might have experience in this kind of setting, or you might have worked with children and young people with SEMH difficulties in mainstream and be excited to see what can be achieved in a different kind of setting. You will be excited to teach in a nurture model, and to lead learning across all the curriculum subjects.

We are looking for people who love children and young people, who enjoy spending time with them, and who get excited to share learning with them. You will need to be someone who is able to stay calm under pressure and maintain loving relationships with young people who may display very challenging behaviour.

About the Role

You will need to be creative and resilient, ready to get stuck into everything, and to pull together with our team to further develop our provision. You will need to be able to think strategically about the systems and culture we need to ensure that we meet our aims of ensuring that all children make great progress academically as well as with their social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties.

To apply for this role, please complete the Application Form and Recruitment Monitoring Form.

Applications should be sent to our HR Department, on hr@aspireap.org.uk

Please apply as soon as possible. We reserve the right to interview upon receipt of application.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and education of our students and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check and references will be required along with the completion of a Health Questionnaire.
