SEN COVER SUPERVISOR
Kirklees - Immediate Start
Due to an increase in demand for cover and an increase in numbers on roll, we have a vacancy for a staff member with strong experience within a Special Educational Needs setting to work on a short to long-term basis. Initially through Vision for Education, one of the UK's fastest growing supply and recruitment agencies, with a view to go on long term or permanent.
At least 12 months experience in the community or within a Special Needs School setting is compulsory for this Special Needs Cover Supervisor role through Vision. You must have strong knowledge or a well known background around working with adults, young people or children with SEN.
The work will include working as a Teaching Assistant with students with SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), those on the Autistic spectrum, with speech and language difficulties, some emotional and sensory needs, as well as taking charge of delivering small group nurture and some whole group cover, for example PPA. You will be required to float across different classes at times and communicate well with a range of different staff members; both teachers and support assistants.
AAC skills including PECS and Makaton will be required along with (ideally) previous experience of Team Teach (training can be provided at no cost through Vision for the successful candidate).
The pay for this role will be between £80 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Clearance procedures through Vision are subject to reference and enhanced DBS checks. Please contact our friendly and helpful SEND Huddersfield team for more information today or to apply. Experience is a MUST for this role.
