Job overview

Vision for Education are looking for a KS4 Class Teacher to work at a "Good" Special School in Leeds on a Full time long term basis. The class is made up of pupils with Autism and MLD with mild challenging behaviour. The ideal candidate will have had experience working with pupils with similar needs in a similar setting. Pupils are working to P levels in most cases, so a primary trained teacher would have an added edge, but this is not essential. This role has the potential to go permanent, so anyone applying for this role ideally needs to be looking for a permanent job. Please see below the list of essential and desirable qualities: 

You must be:

  • Patient and understanding
  • Hold QTS
  • Be empathetic towards pupils with learning difficulties.
  • Be flexible with your teaching styles in order to adapt to each individual.
  • Be confident working in both groups and on a 1:1 basis.
  • Liaise effectively with parents and colleagues.
  • Team Teach Trained or willing to be trained for free by Vision for Education in House trainers.
