We are looking to appoint a dynamic, inspirational and innovative SEN teacher, who has a real passion for ensuring engagement in learning for all students, to join our ambitious and well-resourced department from September 2019.

The role will initially be focused on teaching small groups of KS3 students who have a range of specific educational needs including disabilities that affect cognition, learning and engagement, such as moderate/specific learning difficulties (including dyslexia), speech and language difficulties, and ADHD. The subject content of these classes can be adapted to meet the subject specialism of the right candidate, but will include a focus on English and aspects of the Humanities, Science and Arts curricula.

You will contribute to raising standards of student attainment and to facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their full potential, within an inclusive and supportive environment, and to monitor and support the overall progress and development of students within the curriculum area.

Visits to the school prior to interview are warmly welcomed. To arrange a visit or if you would like more information about the role, please contact Louise Elias (Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion - at lel@cheney.oxon.sch.uk or on 01865 765726 ex t. 113) or Dr Richard Coombs (SENCo and Head of Faculty, SEN - at rco@cheney.oxon.sch.uk or on 01865 765726 ex t.275).

Salary will be on the Teacher Main Scale or Upper Pay scale, depending on experience + the possibility of a TLR for additional duties. The position comes with membership of a comprehensive Healthcare Benefits Plan.
