Smart Teachers is recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant with SEN experience for a mainstream school in London Borough of Haringey. The school is currently seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with a child with Learning and Physical difficulties. The Teaching Assistant will be working in KS1 on a 1:1 basis for two days of the week, and then as a General Classroom Assistant for the remaining 3. This is a fantastic opportunity with a chance to make a real difference to the lives of pupils in the class. There is excellent scope for progression with on going training and support delivered by a kind and caring team. In order to be considered for this role, the SEN Teaching Assistant will need to meet the following criteria:

  • You must have previous experience working with children or adults with special needs or disabilities including, but not limited to, ADHD, ASD, Autism, Down Syndrome, Complex Needs, and Emotional Behaviour Disorders.
  • You must be flexible in your approach to supporting children in class, small groups, and on a 1:1 basis.
  • Ideally, applicants will hold a fully enhanced DBS, child and/or adult qualifications within care and will have at least 6 months experience of working with young children with special needs. 
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS / police checks
