Job overview

We are looking to appoint Teaching Assistants who have a passion to see all students succeed and a commitment to ensuring that the students are supported to achieve.

This role is an exciting and rewarding entry-level position for an individual looking to take their first step in education. 

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Liaise with teachers and ensure students are able to access the learning, provide scaffolding where necessary and track their progress appropriately 
  • Attend to the student's personal needs and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical hygiene and welfare matters
  • Establish good relationships with all students, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs
  • This role is an exciting and rewarding entry-level position for an individual looking to take their first step in education

About The Elmgreen School

The Elmgreen School is a unique 11-18 secondary school. It is a non denominational mixed school which opened to its first cohort of year 7 students in September 2007.   The secondary Hearing Impaired Unit is co-located within the school. We will reach our full complement of 1100 students in 2014 which will include a 200 place sixth form. The school moved to its inspirational new building in September 2009.

The school is non selective and provides a creative and innovative curriculum, encouraging the highest standards of teaching and learning within an ethos of mutual respect, harmony and achievement.
