Hartsbourne is part of the highly successful Bushey St James Trust and we are looking for an enthusiastic, well organised Teaching Assistant to join a strong and dedicated team to support a range of children with additional needs. The school works hard to encourage all students to be independent, resilient and able to make positive life choices with confidence regardless of any additional emotional or physical needs they might have. Previous experience of working with children with special needs would be advantageous. The role will be well supported by the school's Senco and external agencies. Strong communication skills and an ability to relate to children are vital. The successful applicant will work with the class teacher and other professionals to deliver an individualised curriculum. We are looking for someone who can:

  • Set boundaries to support learning.
  • Build positive relationships with adults and children.
  • Demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm for working with children.
  • Plan for differentiated work, in partnership with the class teacher and Senco.
  • Work in a flexible, well-organised way.
  • Work successfully as part of a team in a vibrant close-knit school community.
