Job overview

We are looking to recruit a SENCO who will take lead responsibility for improving outcomes for our SEN pupils both through specific and targeted action and support the school to improve the quality of  teaching and learning across the school. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be resilient,  innovative and passionate about our students achieving their full potential 
  • Have a successful track record of working with SEN students and will hold (or prepared to gain) the National Award in Special Educational Needs Coordinator
  • Excited about the opportunity of working in an all-through school

Grove Academy is the second school in the SASH Education Trust, which was set up by the Slough Association of Secondary Headteachers (SASH) as a vehicle for providing different choices for Slough families. Grove Academy is the first all-through school to open in Slough and provides opportunity and education for 4 to 16 year olds, underpinned by high-quality teaching and learning and a common assessment framework. This continuity ensures that we can avoid the dips in performance associated with transition from one phase or school to another.

As one school we are able to teach subjects to our younger children via specialist subject teachers, such as modern foreign languages and PE. We can provide pastoral care for children in challenging circumstances by offering a ‘joined-up’ strategy and support families more consistently over a longer time.
