Claremont Preparatory School, judged by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas in March 2019, seeks to appoint a permanent SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) with excellent leadership and communication skills with effect from September 2020.
Responsibilities will encompass all aspects of our SEND provision throughout the School, managing a dedicated and committed team of special needs support staff in order to raise student achievement, and supporting the Deputy Head (Academic) with oversight of our Speech and Language and Autistic Spectrum Additionally Resourced Provisions.
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations, someone who can continue to promote a culture of inclusion. They will lead relevant insets to develop materials and strategies for effective differentiated provision throughout the curriculum. The successful applicant will also take specific responsibility for developing, implementing and reviewing the SEND programme for pupils.

Working across Nursery, KS1, KS2 and KS3, they will also assist the Deputy Head (Academic), Head of Pre-Prep and Nursery, and Early Years lead with:
identification of children with SEND;
engagement with all stakeholders, including parents;
supporting teachers and support staff to ensure their teaching is well matched to the needs of individual pupils;
liaising with external agencies as necessary.
