VACANCY FOR SENCo (Supporting SEND across the Trust)

Required from January 2019

Salary: Main/Upper Range plus SEN 1 Allowance

Responsible to: Executive Principal

Cambridge Primary Education Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Cambridge Primary Education Trust (CPET) is a multi‐academy trust comprising Histon & Impington Infant School, Histon & Impington Junior School, Hatton Park Primary School and Trumpington Park Primary School.

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dedicated and forward-thinking practitioner (who has attained the National Award for SENCo) to work across our schools to support inclusion and SEND. The role will involve working closely with our team of SENCos to ensure effective provision for pupils and support for staff.

It will be varied work including working in different schools in our trust as well as providing support to other schools that we offer school to school to support to. This may include overseeing the creation and implementation of individual plans to support pupils to access the curriculum; reviewing and assessing pupil progress and targets; liaising with external agencies and providing pastoral support to pupils and their families. Staff training will also be a strong feature of the role. It will provide an unique opportunity for candidates wishing to further their career  in a highly successful and dynamic multi-academy trust.

This appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and references.

Closing Date for applications: Monday 15th October 2018 (by 9am)

Interviews will be held during this week.

Visits are welcomed; please contact Caroline Day at Histon & Impington Junior School (tel 01223 712192) to arrange an appointment. Application packs can also be downloaded from the Histon & Impington Junior School website on the Vacancies page http://www.histonimpingtonjunior.co.uk/job-vacancies.

About Histon and Impington Brook Primary School

Histon & Impington Brook Primary School (formerly Histon & Impington Junior School) is the lead school within Cambridge Primary Education Trust (CPET). In 2009, it was designated as a National Support School and began working with other schools beginning with Hatton Park Primary School which led to the formation of the multi-academy trust in 2012.

Histon & Impington Brook Primary School is graded ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, has had national Teaching School Status and, from February 2021, was designated as the Teaching School Hub for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough schools. As the school transitions to an all through primary, the number on roll is around 480 (Reception, and Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) but will be moving towards a two form entry with 420 children in the next two years.

Histon & Impington Brook Primary School is situated in a very attractive location in the centre of the village of Histon and admits children mainly from Histon and Impington plus several of the neighbouring villages. As a school in the heart of the village, we are privileged to work very closely with the local community.

As a new Headteacher to our school, you will enjoy working with a fabulous group of children and staff who all care greatly about our school. All of our staff, parents/carers and SAB members work exceptionally hard to achieve the highest standards and best educational experience that is possible for our children – they are at the heart of all that we do - and we look forward to welcoming you to lead us into the next phase of our journey.
