SEND Strand Leader

£18,000-£22,000 (FTE)

The Hyndburn Academy is a new school that opened in September 2017. We are proud to be part of United Learning, one of England’s leading school groups. We form part of the Lancashire cluster of schools and work closely with our sister school Accrington Academy.

The Hyndburn Academy has ambitious plans for its students and staff. Over the next few years we are aiming to rapidly transform into the successful school our fantastic students derive.

We are looking to appoint 3 Strand Leaders, each with a responsibility for either:

• Social, Emotional and Mental Health

• Communication and Interaction

• Cognition and Learning

The Strand Lead, takes responsibility for the day-to-day management of their particular strand and its staff. The lead will provide professional guidance in their strand of SEND in order to secure QFT and the effective use of resources to bring about improved standards of achievement of students by removing barriers to learning.

The Strand Lead contracted hours will be 37.5hours per week, Term Time Only (to include all Inset days).

We are looking for:

● Someone who is committed to an inclusive ethos with the belief that every students counts

• Someone who is flexible to respond to emerging initiatives which support students learning

• Someone who shares our moral purpose of ensuring that all of our young people receive the best education possible in a supportive environment from people who care about them.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing program. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
