Vision For Education are working with highly rewarding special needs school settings across Manchester, who are looking to appoint a SEND Teacher with either the experience or desire to work with pupils with moderate, severe and complex needs. 

The role

As an SEND Teacher you will be teaching classes of 4 to 6 pupils with a high ratio of TA support, most often 1:1. The pupils will often have complex needs, there may be pupils with degenerative illnesses or those who are non-verbal and communicate using basic signing tools like Makaton. Ability levels can vary considerably. You will be working with other professionals within the school such as nurses, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists etc.

The SEND Teacher post will suit someone either looking to work a special needs school environment or someone with special school experience. The schools provide educational environments that are child centred, flexible and responsive to the complex needs of each pupil.


Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for the SEND Teacher position are:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status QTS or QTLS.

• Be dedicated and supportive, an excellent communicator and passionate about working with students with SEND.
