Do you have a proven track record of successful leadership?  Are you known for your positivity and determination? Are you a solution focussed, creative thinker?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the school’s SEND Department.  We are looking for a leader with a clear vision and strong sense of moral purpose who is passionate about providing the very best teaching and learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom for our most vulnerable students.

You will be committed to improving not only students’ academic attainment but also their independence, behaviour, self-confidence and self-esteem.

Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will be advising on best practice in SEND education and will have responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of provision across the school.

Dedicated to developing staff, the provision of high quality teaching and learning will be at the heart of your practice.

Writhlington School is part of the Midsomer Norton Schools’ Partnership and is located on a large modern campus that benefits from exceptional media facilities, a 400-seat theatre and a Community Sports Centre. The school is committed to supporting staff in their professional development and working collaboratively to drive towards the goal of consistently refining pedagogy and practice with a pupil centred mindset.

New staff ideas are encouraged and there are a range of opportunities to lead and to contribute to its wide range of extracurricular activities: a large Combined Cadet Force, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and international links with Tanzania and Rwanda that support the 14-19 curriculum.

If you would like to work in a collaborative, forward-thinking and supportive school environment, apply by 9.00 am, Monday 30 September 2019.
