A fantastic opportunity is awaiting you; the chance to design and shape innovative and creative SEND practice in a new all-through academy.
Having appointed exceptional candidates for the first three years of opening, King’s Academy Binfield (KAB)and King’s Academy Oakwood (KAO) are now looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative SENDCo based within our Secondary setting to play an intrinsic role in our new all-through academy in Bracknell Forest.
KAB opened in a superb building in September 2018 with 120 Year 7 students. KAB primary phase and KAO both opened in September 2019. As of September 2021, KAB will have Year N to Year 2, and Year 7 through to Year 10 and KAO will have Year R through to Year 4. Both academies are run cohesively sharing the same leadership, staff, values, curriculum, opportunities and expectations of excellence.
This role will be based primarily in our Secondary phase leading on all aspects of SEND but there will be an expectation to work cross phase and work with and line manage our Deputy SENDCo (Primary), also working in close partnership with our Vice Principal (Inclusion) to support with SEND provision across all phases. This role will be instrumental in setting up and shaping our specialist resource provision in our primary phase. Potential is as important as experience. We would fully support the right candidate to undertake the National SENCo award.
Applicants should be excellent teachers and have a strong knowledge and understanding of the best strategies to enable all our students, but especially those with additional needs, to thrive in their learning. They will have the ability to motivate, inspire and lead students to excel. and will be a confident leader of staff to ensure our students with additional needs get the best learning experiences they can. The successful candidate will be a team player and will get stuck in and involve themselves in the wider aspects of academy life. A genuine commitment to our ‘whatever it takes’ ethos is essential to enable every young person at KAB and KAO to thrive.
King’s Academy Binfield and King’s Academy Oakwood are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
