Exciting and innovative times at Longhill High School
In September 2018 Longhill High School was judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
Ofsted said in September 2018 that ‘Teachers have renewed enthusiasm for teaching and a group of staff actively research new ways to inspire pupils. Consequently, teachers are motivated and form part of the ambitious learning culture permeating throughout the school.’
Reporting to the Assistant Head, you will be responsible for leading the SEND Department and Special Facility (dyslexia), so some experience of management and leadership at a whole school level is essential.
You will be a committed team player and leader with excellent organisational and technical skills, as well as the ability to effectively support learning and teaching, and to develop relationships across the school, with outside agencies and with the wider school community.
The successful applicant will be a resilient and creative practitioner, leading our knowledgeable team develop provision for students with SEND. You’ll be someone who shares our passion, commitment, drive, enthusiasm, and hardworking ethos. You’ll help enhance the progress of students across the curriculum. You’ll also be leading staff to engage with inclusive practice; increasing the skills of our already talented Teaching Assistants and delivering small group teaching within our Learning Support team.
At Longhill High School, you will be supported and encouraged to develop outstanding practice. You will enjoy the professional freedom to find the approach that works best for you and will be encouraged to share those innovations within the faculty and at whole school level.
