SENDCO

Salary: MPR/UPR + TLR2C (£6,829)

This is a fantastic opportunity for enthusiastic, driven professionals to join an outstanding post 16 college.

Working as part of The GORSE Academies Trust, Elliott Hudson College has a mission to ensure that its students receive an exceptional education.  We are looking for professionals who want to work in a college that focuses on high expectations, challenge and rigour but aligned closely with personal responsibility and pastoral care. Together these values will instil in young people a self-belief that enables them to access the highest standard of higher educational provision and employment.

Through this approach, Elliott Hudson College is becoming a catalyst for social change, transforming opportunities for the young people in the communities it serves. We are determined, through the establishment of this college, to ensure that poverty, deprivation or disadvantage should in no way limit either the quality of a young person’s educational experience or the levels of achievement to which those students are able to rise.

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified, dynamic leader of SEND provision. This is a critical role in the development of the college and we seek an individual who will become a passionate advocate for our students with SEND. Elliott Hudson College is committed to transforming the lives of young people in the Leeds City region, especially those who face the most significant challenges. Our standards and expectations are high and we expect our leaders to strive for excellence in all aspects of our provision, both inside and outside of the classroom. As SENDCO we would expect that you are able to deliver your specialist subject to the highest standard and be a model of good practice for SEND support.

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates who are keen to be at the centre of our organisational change. The last few years have been exceptional for The GORSE Academies Trust and we are incredibly proud that Elliott Hudson College has been judged as ‘outstanding’ in all areas, by Ofsted in March 2018. This opportunity does present the successful candidate with a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate their value in a thriving and growing organisation.

Elliott Hudson College is a 16-19, co-educational college which opened in 2015 and now has a student population of 1070 Year 12 and 13 ‘A’ Level students. The college is housed in brand new, state-of-the-art accommodation at The White Rose Office Park, Millshaw Park Lane, Leeds, LS11 0LT.
