An excellent opportunity has arisen for an empathetic, innovative and ambitious individual who is a qualified, or aspiring, SENDCo to join Albemarle Primary School. This role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to continue to shape and enhance the excellent provision that is already in place, helping and supporting students to build upon their skills and aspirations whilst also nurturing their social, pastoral and emotional development.

The applicant will have an in-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and have a track record of outstanding SEND provision in their own teaching. They should have gained or be prepared to commence the NASENCO qualification, and should also demonstrate an understanding of outstanding classroom practice across the school ability range from Early Years to Key Stage 2. The applicant will need to be a highly committed, motivated and passionate practitioner with QTS status and who possesses a strong work ethic to enable them to fully support children with diverse additional needs. A flexible approach is a prerequisite.

As the SENCO, you will be responsible for maintaining the relationships with parents, teachers and external contacts to ensure the steady progress of pupils, reviewing paperwork and chairing EHCP meetings with local authorities in attendance, and managing and monitoring the therapeutic intervention being delivered to ensure that the provision is of a consistently high standard.

The school takes a very collaborative approach to inclusion, and as such you will be working alongside class teachers, teaching assistants, various subject leaders and an incredibly inclusive Leadership Team. • A strong leader and committed to providing the highest standards of provision for SEND pupils.

• Experienced in rigorous tracking and monitoring of children’s progress and working within the SEND Code of Practice.

• An excellent communicator, with a strong commitment to working in partnership with parents, governors, local authorities, external agencies and the community.

• Confident in managing therapeutic intervention from various external therapy teams including SALT, OT, Physiotherapy and Hearing Support.
