Northern Education Trust (NET) is a charitable education Trust with an improving track record for school improvement. The Trust sponsors 21 academies; 10 secondary and 11 primaries across the North of England in eleven Local Authority regions.

An important part of the Trust’s strategy for school improvement is to increasingly grow the capacity for specialist subject practitioners. Due to the promotion of the recent post holder, we are now looking to recruit a senior specialist in Maths to lead a team of Maths Directors.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will be able to demonstrate successful leadership with significant curriculum experience in Maths. This will be underpinned by our vision ‘We constantly focus on standards as we understand outcomes are paramount. Our decision making is driven entirely by what is best for our children. By doing this, we enhance the life chances of the children and young people in our care’. You will have a proven track record of examination success and be able to evidence that you are a consistently good to outstanding teacher who can demonstrate and model the qualities required for this key leadership role.

You will line manage the team of Directors of Maths setting high standards and being jointly accountable for outcomes. In addition, you will work with Curriculum Leaders and teachers across the Trust and assist in accelerating the pace of improvement.

Although you will be based in an academy, providing you with an opportunity to be part of a leadership team, regular travel across the northern region will be necessary in supporting curriculum leadership and teacher development throughout the Trust.

For further information please download the job description and person specification from www.northerneducationtrust.org. Alternatively, you can contact Jo Hoggarth, HR Administrator on j.hoggarth@northerneducationtrust.org. Please note completed applications must be returned to Jo by email.

The Trust is committed to safer recruitment practice and pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. All posts are subject to enhanced disclosure and barring service checks. We expect all adults to share our commitment to safeguarding and the health and wellbeing of our pupils.

Closing date: Noon, 16th October 2019
