Here at South Thames College, we are now looking for a Senior Facilities Officer to assist the Facilities Management Team to maintain an attractive, safe, clean, and welcoming College and a calm purposeful learning environment.


Working alongside contracted site services staff when required, you will be responsible for the provision of maintenance, repair, and occasional facilities related services for the site and cover for the Facilities Manager as required. You will be the single point of contact for all requests for repairs, faults, and other maintenance requests and provide first-line response to repair requests covering non-plant equipment, fabric, plumbing, carpentry, and decorative repairs.


As our Senior Facilities Officer, we would like you to hold a City & Guilds, NVQ or similar qualification in a relevant trade and have experience of the operation and day-to-day first line maintenance of buildings. Your experience will include painting and decorating as well as basic carpentry tasks and mean you are comfortable operating heating systems, security, and fire systems.


Able to work with and oversee contractors, you will have good working knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and procedures relevant to an educational establishment and work well as part of a team. You will consider yourself to be physically fit, able to carry out lifting and other physical maintenance tasks including working at height, and be happy working a shift pattern, covering call out duties on rota, all year round.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.
