Exeter School is looking for a Senior IT Support Specialist to join our IT team and play a key role in our technical innovation and the direction of our IT and mobile infrastructure.  It’s an exciting time to join us as we move towards more dependence on mobile technology.  You will have the chance to play a key role in the success of this programme.  


The Role:

As a Senior IT Support Specialist, you will ensure that our technical estate is fully functioning, well managed and usable.    Specifically, you will support the day-to-day operation of school networks and information systems; manage all mobile devices; and provide a first line technical support service to staff.

This will involve:

- Managing switches, firewalls, wireless solutions and servers

- Overseeing the photocopying and print management systems

- Management of user accounts and the internal communication system including phones

- Supporting the mobile strategy and ensuring its success   

- Deploying mobile devices at the beginning of the year and resolving ongoing maintenance and support matters   

- Advising and guiding the Senior Management Team on the direction of the mobile technology   

- Working with the IT Support Technician to provide technical support, training and advice to staff .


About You:

 To be considered as a Senior IT Support Specialist, you will need:

- Strong technical skills

- A methodical approach to problem solving

- A keen eye for detail

- Strong communication skills

- The flexibility to work in a variety of different roles 

Prior experience of mobile device deployments (particularly iPads in an education setting) is desirable. 


We offer:
 - Salary of £28,000 - £30,000 subject to qualifications and experience

 - Pension (employer contribution of 8%, employee contribution of 3.5%)

 - Free lunch during term time

- 22 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays
