Prestwich Arts College wishes to appoint a reliable and forward thinking professional to join our Science team, where you will assist us in the next part of our journey, to help our students realise their greatness.  We are seeking the right person to join our committed team, to work under the direction of the Lead Practitioner of Science.  The Science faculty are a team of hard working and dedicated staff, with a mixture of expertise and specialisms.  We have celebrated excellent results in Triple Science and have an improving trajectory for Science overall.

The Science Faculty’s vision, is aligned with the Prestwich values of supporting all of our students in unlocking their potential and realising their greatness.  We are currently re-modelling our Science curriculum provision across KS3 and KS4, to suit the needs of our pupils.  Our aim is to provide a high quality curriculum, which ensures that curiosity is nurtured and real-life contexts are embedded across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.  This is an exciting new phase for us and we seek applications from individuals who share this commitment, to provide the best learning environment for our pupils and improve Science for all.  We are also currently in the process of building two Science labs and a work room / prep area, so we will have state of the art facilities too.

The school is committed to Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children and we expect all staff to share this commitment.   Appointment, therefore, will be subject to clearance checks through the Disclosure and Barring Service.  In addition, we will also require the receipt of two suitable / appropriate references, medical clearance, copies of relevant qualifications and eligibility to work in the UK.

Please complete the application form included, paying particular attention to the job description and person specification.  The short listing will take into account how you have demonstrated that your abilities match the skills and experience detailed in those documents.  The closing date is noon on Monday, 19th November and interviews are currently expected to be held on Monday, 26th November 2018.
