Whitgift is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys, with approximately 1500 pupils including over one hundred boarding pupils and flexi boarding pupils. It is set in an attractive 48-acre parkland site in South Croydon enjoying excellent links to London, Surrey and the south coast.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Science Technician Team Leader to a busy Science Faculty. Reporting to the Head of Science, this key role involves responsibility for the day-to-day running of the practical and technical support service. Previous experience in a similar role in a school or scientific working environment is essential.
The main responsibilities are:
- line management of eight technicians to ensure that the existing expertise is effectively and smoothly managed and supported
- adapting and improving existing protocols and procedures, requiring effective and experienced project management
- monitoring and developing existing and planned lab development and use.
The ability to deliver all three aspects of the job is an important feature of this post.
