Senior Teacher of the Deaf

From the Sensory Room to the classroom, from messy play in the nursery to life-skills advice in College; no two days in your peripatetic role in the Hearing Support Team will be the same! We are looking for an experienced and appropriately qualified Teacher of the Deaf who has good knowledge of Hearing Impairment and experience of working with children and young people in a range of settings, supporting them creatively and innovatively to become the best they can be, and inspiring others to do the same.

This exciting full time peripatetic teaching post will be filled by a qualified and experienced Teacher of the Deaf who will work as part of the Senior Management Team within the Hearing Support Team. You will line manage a team of Teachers of the Deaf working in East Cornwall and will be based in the Liskeard area office. You will hold responsibility for leading on strategic elements of the Hearing Support Team plan. Initially this will include taking the lead to advise on Audiology development initiatives and associated training needs within the Team, but will be subject to change over time as focus for the Team evolves.  You will be able to demonstrate your personal knowledge and skills within the field of Audiology, and be able to identify ways in which you have supported and developed the expertise of colleagues in this area.

We are looking for a person who is committed to inclusion and whose work is firmly rooted in making a difference to pupil outcomes and who will be able to work across the age range of 0-25yrs.

You’ll be an enthusiastic team player interested in multi-professional holistic working. The ability to manage your own time commitments and workload is essential.
