Lansdowne, as part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust and East Sussex County Council, is an ‘Outstanding’ secure children’s home provision, based in Halisham. We have a fantastic opportunity for an innovative and inspiring Senior Teacher to lead the new Personalised Learning programme in our school. We are seeking to appoint an experienced practitioner with a proven track record of successfully meeting the needs of pupils with complex learning and emotional needs to develop this new aspect of our provision.
The successful candidate will have experience of developing effective practice for young people who have experienced significant trauma and who have a range of complex learning needs. You will be able be able to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team within the home demonstrating a working understanding of how the needs of the residents impact upon learning and behaviour within and beyond the classroom. You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with young people with social or emotional and mental health difficulties.
As Senior Teacher you will support the Head of Education in a combination of operational and teaching responsibilities, with a focus on developing the individualised aspect of the new provision achieving positive outcomes for all young people resident. You will contribute to the organisation, management and delivery of the curriculum, ensuring high quality teaching, standards of behaviour and well established school routines. Within this role you will demonstrate a commitment to understanding each individual young person, ensuring the school experience motivates and engages them in learning whilst meeting their emotional needs.
