Senior Teaching Assistant, September 2018 start

 Hoe Valley School is an oversubscribed secondary School that opened in September 2015 to serve the local community of South Woking. Delivering innovative and exciting lessons to years 7,8,9 and from September 2018, year 10, HVS is committed to ensuring our students leave us with excellent academic outcomes, the skills to be ‘work-ready’ and the traits of excellent global citizens.

We are looking for a passionate, talented and rigorous practitioner to join our dedicated team in leading the School on its journey to becoming an established outstanding community School. 

The successful candidate will work within a team of Teaching Assistants to contribute to improving standards in English and Maths and work with students on a 1:1 level and with small groups. 

Our Senior TA will also interchange with the class teacher and lead whole class learning to allow the teacher to focus on individuals and groups of students in order to ensure the progress of all students. They will inform IEPs, contribute to target setting and review meetings and ensure the provision for SEN students is high quality and meaningful. 

You will represent the values and ethos of the School at all times and put the safety and wellbeing of our students first. 

HVS is committed to offering bespoke professional development pathways to all members of staff and would ensure the successful candidate has a development programme in place.

About you:  

-You will have  a good level of general education  and a minimum of A* - C grade in English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent

-You will have experience of working in a School setting with small groups 

-You will share the school's vision and the belief that all young people can achieve at high levels

-You will have excellent interpersonal skills and strong levels of numeracy, written and oral communication

-You will be a team player who is willing to support all aspects of School life  

-Formal training and qualifications in releavnt disciplines are desirable
