Le Rondin school is looking to appoint, with effect from as soon as possible, a well-qualified and enthusiastic class teacher to work with pupils with Sensory & Communication needs including severe learning difficulties (SLD) and Autism. The person appointed, will require a working knowledge and experience of pupils with SLD and additional needs such as communication difficulties, social and emotional difficulties as well challenging behaviour.
This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a valued team. Le Rondin is a Primary Special School for pupils aged 3-11 years who have a wide range of learning difficulties and additional special educational needs.

Areas of focus include communication, choice making and social skills, personal development (looking at behaviour and coping skills, developing tolerance, confidence, self-help and independence), movement and body awareness (including therapeutic massage and hydrotherapy) as well as numeracy, literacy and information skills. Teaching and learning approaches used may include Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), visual schedules and work systems, principles of TEACCH, objects of reference, sensory diet, Signalong and Intensive Interaction.
