Blue Coat CoE School are seeking to appoint, a reliable, professional and practical individual. The successful candidate will support our school in providing a safe, effective and efficient learning environment. Responsibilities cover general SSA duties including opening and closing the premises, basic maintenance and repairs, waste management, porterage, emergency call outs and health and safety checks. Duties will also include ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and security is maintained to support and safeguard the welfare of all persons using the school premises. 

The successful candidate will need to be fit and able to cope with physically challenging duties and have good communication skills and be ready to deal with a variety of situations.  Our SSA will need to work flexibly at all times and may on occasion be required to bank holidays. 

Please note annual leave must be taken during school holidays.

Previous experience of caretaking, security, minor maintenance work and working on a school site would be desirable but isn’t essential as full training will be given.

Blue Coat is a successful and oversubscribed school in the heart of the city of Coventry.  As a Christian school our intake draws from both the local area and across the city and surrounding areas.  Consequently we have a diverse intake and a culturally thriving school. The school was graded 'Outstanding' in its SIAMS inspection and 'Good' by Ofsted in May 2023 with 3 'Outstanding' categories. Our most recent Progress 8 score was +0.42.  The vast majority of our students stay on into the sixth form and continue their studies.

We have a large and successful Post 16 provision with 350 pupils on average studying either A levels or Vocational Level 3 courses.  We have excellent rates of progression to universities, apprenticeships and employment.
