Skills Coach (Functional Skills)

Post Ref: 6164. Full time. Permanent. £25,380.00 to £27,066.00 per annum (dependent on qualifications).

The Apprenticeship Directorate are looking to appoint two suitably qualified skills coaches to join us to deliver Maths & English Functional Skills qualifications. The majority of work will involve delivery to our Apprenticeship provision at our Ashington campus, Kirkley Hall and in the workplace.

We would welcome applications that have a proven record and experience of delivering English and Maths qualifications at levels one and two with successful outcomes to a diverse range of leaners. The successful applicant will ideally possess an appropriate teaching qualification as well as a Subject Specialist qualification in either Maths or English.  However, we are willing to support the successful applicant with training and qualifications.  We would particularly welcome applicants who have experience in both apprenticeships and work based learning.   

Applicants for this post should have drive and enthusiasm and possess good interpersonal and organisational skills. You should have experience of working in a team, as a commitment to teamwork is vital. Applicants must be mobile throughout the northeast region as this role will include travelling to employer premises.

Applicants for this post should be able to demonstrate in their personal statement practical examples of how they fulfil the person specification.
