  • We are looking for a SENCo who really cares about helping all of our students to succeed. You will be passionate about leading a department in order to get the very best from our students. 

You will: 

  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner able to teach to an outstanding level 
  • Possess a formal teaching qualification 
  • Lead on the assessment of all of our students on entry, and for access arrangements.  
  • Ensure our students with ‘MyPlans and Education, Health and Care Plans receive the best and most appropriate support 
  • Be confident in delivering CPD to our staff 
  • Be confident in leading a department of skilled staff  
  • Be enthusiastic about raising the standards of teaching and learning for our students with SEND 
  • Be organised, approachable and passionate about SEN/D 
  • Have National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination (NASENCo) or willing to uptake this qualification when appointed 

We will:

  • Make you, in the crucial role of SENCo, part of our Senior Leadership Team
  • Provide financial support to enable you to complete NASENCo award
  • Support and challenge our teaching through frequent CPD, team meetings, peer observations and coaching and mentoring for all new staff. 
  • Help you to benefit from regular collaboration with experts from our trust to ensure we stay ahead of the game. 
  • Give you a staff team who are enthusiastic, dedicated, positive and supportive, and put on phenomenal pantomimes!  
  • Come and visit us to meet the team of students and staff who are making Firth Park Academy one of the best schools in our city.
