About Discovery Primary School

Discovery Primary School opened in September 2007, and caters for girls and boys, aged 3 - 11 year old. At present, there are approximately 640 children on roll.  We have 24 classrooms, a library, 2 large halls and extensive play areas including a large multi-use games area.  Discovery School works very closely with Discovery Children's Centre, which is part of our school site.

Class teachers are responsible for the children's welfare and the delivery of the curriculum.  The children's learning is planned jointly in year group teams.  During planning, teachers use their own expertise, as well as drawing on the knowledge and strengths of other members of staff, to ensure that learning meets the needs and interests of the children, as well as the demands of the National Curriculum.  In this way we are able to ensure that our children's learning experience is the best it can possibly be.
