Specialist Learning Support Assistant, Maidenhead

Would you like to join the support staff team of an extremely popular and expanding secondary school?

We are looking for someone with current Team Teach (or equivalent) training and experience of working with ASD students to support an individual student initially in Year 8.  You will provide one-to-one support to the student predominantly in a classroom setting, encouraging the student to become a confident independent learner.  

You will provide pastoral support and guidance to the student and assist in their behavioural, emotional and social development.  Keeping records of the student’s progress and providing feedback as well as highlighting observed difficulties to teachers and other specialists and suggest appropriate strategies is also key to this role.  You will attend meetings with teachers, the student’s parents and other professionals and contribute to reviews and action plans.  The ability to communicate effectively and confidently and use initiative as well as working in a team is paramount.
