Job overview

We are seeking to recruit an experienced, passionate, and effective practitioner, to join our successful and dedicated team of ASD specialist staff.

Our school has an established specialist resource provision for pupils with ASD, where children make excellent progress and achieve highly. We are looking for a person who has the qualifications, skills, and ambition for the children to enable them to accomplish their learning and personal targets.

Working across the school, with SRP and mainstream staff, the role is exactly suited to someone with a sense of purpose, a high level of positive outlook and attitude and a focus on high standards of achievement.

The team are highly skilled in adapting learning and delivery to enable all children to succeed, and this career opportunity would enable the right candidate to work alongside the current staff to continue to develop outstanding practice.

Essential skills

• The use of independent initiative when supporting pupils in all Key Stages.

• The ability to work with a team in a responsive and flexible manner, responding to the instruction and advice of the SENCo SRP lead teacher and experienced HLTA.

• Ability to reflect and see solutions in daily teaching, in own practice and that of the team.

• To share ideas for the adjustment of learning so that pupils with SEND know and remember more.

• To support the planning and preparing lessons and resources that are to be adapted for pupils in the SRP.

• To support the SENCo SRP lead teacher with paperwork and assessment.

• Plan in-reach learning for other pupils with SEND from around the school and monitor learning thorough feedback.

• To build effective trusting relationships with parents, external agencies, and a range of professionals

• To use knowledge of research and experience to bring ideas and methods of support to the SENCo SRP lead teacher and school team to enable all children to reach their full potential.

• A willingness and interest in using CPD to further develop career.
