Job overview

We are looking for a manager to develop our specific learning difficulties and speech and language therapy service to ensure consistent effective assessment and support practices across South Thames College's Group mainstream provision. 


In return you will have the opportunity to shape and develop a service that is responsive to the needs in the local community, utilise your skillset to move young people into adulthood and be an integral part of the Learning Support team across South Thames College’s Group. 


You will be an experienced manager with a demonstrable track record of improving outcomes for learners on mainstream provision who have for example, dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD or Asperger’s Syndrome. You will be confident in responding to EHCP consultations and guiding your team to write provision maps for young people who require high needs support funding.

 

You will have a teaching qualification and a recognised specific learning difficulties qualification that enables you to complete Form 8s as evidence of your excellent knowledge of exam access assessment practices and JCQ requirements. You should have experience of teaching 1:1 and small groups of learners with specific learning difficulties; ideally in the post 16 sector. 


The post will require regular travel to all four colleges in the South Thames College’s Group. Please note, only applicants with the required qualifications will be considered.
