We are currently recruiting for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to work 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only.
This is a unique opportunity for the right individual to provide direct support to a student who has Cerebral Palsy, assisting with his day-to-day school life and personal care. The ideal candidate must be organised and responsible, with a positive outlook and an empathetic personality. They will need to be physically fit [manual handling will be an integral part of this role] and will need to use ICT effectively [with the opportunity to undertake further training in this area]. The post-holder will work in conjunction with another specialist TA to provide this high level of care, so excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential
Experience of working in another school, educational setting, or having knowledge of working with those who have a disability would be advantageous, but full training will be provided.
This unique appointment is offered on a fixed-term basis, reviewed towards the end of every academic year, in line with the provision of external funding, but should continue for the duration of the student’s school life at BGN.
