We are delighted to be making an appointment for the position of Specialist Teaching Assistant – with a focus on KS3 Numeracy, at our high achieving 11-18 academy in Wakefield – Outwood Grange Academy. 

We are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. We place students at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning. You will be working within a team of friendly, supportive and approachable colleagues as part of a curriculum department to support students to develop their numeracy in small groups. You will work with students who are working below age related expectations, disadvantaged students and any other intervention groups who require necessary additional mentoring. You will make a huge contribution to the GCSE results by ensuring that students have the required knowledge to access the secondary curriculum.

This position provides an opportunity to join an amazing team, and work directly with young people to ensure they achieve far more than they ever expected.  The successful candidate must have Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths or equivalent and Level 4 qualifications, possess strong IT skills, be a good communicator, approachable and have a positive attitude towards staff and students.

This post will be attractive to colleagues looking to develop their practice in a school where everybody is recognised as a learner.  Due to the nature of the position, we are looking for someone who has strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
