37 hours a week. We are seeking to appoint a Specialist Teaching Service Area Manager in the Preston and south area of Lancashire and so would very much welcome applications from those who are inspired, and able to inspire others, to achieve the very best outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

The Specialist Teaching Service is a newly formed service within the Lancashire SEND Service, comprised skilled practitioners who are committed to providing high quality support to children and young people from birth up to the age of twenty five. This service has been created to provide centrally commissioned support and a range of traded services to schools and other educational settings. It is divided up into three area teams each of which consists of Portage workers, sensory technicians and teachers with specialist qualifications for working with children and young people with sensory impairment and other types of SEND. These teams provide support in a range of different settings that include the home, early years' settings and schools and colleges.

We are seeking to recruit a dynamic and committed professional, who would like to contribute to the development of this newly created service by being part of a supportive leadership team that aims to provide, and enable, the strategic direction of the service alongside other services within SEND, the local authority and our partner organisations.

As a member of the leadership team it is expected that you will contribute to the overall leadership and management of the service and that you:

- have effective planning and organisational skills - have an ability to promote engagement with, and commitment to, the aims of the organisation - have an ability to build and sustain relationships - have a commitment to team working - are able to provide evidence of delivering results that have led to improved outcomes.

In addition to overall responsibility for the management of the Specialist Teaching Service in the south area it is anticipated that you will have other areas of responsibility that will contribute to the overall management of the service and for specific projects that reflect priorities for the local authority over time.

Interview date: week beginning 19 March 2018.
