Milton Abbey is a forward-thinking independent school which accepts a number of pupils with learning differences. We are expanding and have a number of roles available in our Learning Development department.
We wish to appoint a Speech and Language Therapist to join our Learning Development Team. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with secondary age pupils with speech, language and social communication difficulties affecting curriculum access or social integration. For immediate start, or January 2022.
For the right candidate this position could be full time (comprising Speech and Language 1:1 and small group work, as well as co-curricular and boarding duties) or part time to approximately 20 hours per week. Newly qualified candidates will also be considered in which case appropriate Speech and Language supervision will be contracted in. Training will be offered to maintain appropriate continuing professional development. Alternatively, this role could also be held by a local Dorset therapist with an independent practice but willingness to give 2/3 days per week in term time (c 32 weeks per year) for our pupils.
Year-round accommodation is offered if needed, as is a pensionable salary, all meals during term time and approximately 16 weeks of holiday per annum. Salary will be offered pro-rata at NHS Band 6 or 7 depending on experience.
Candidates must demonstrate a positive and authoritative rapport with young people; be organised, committed, self-directed and have a sense of humour.
This is a wonderful school to work at with friendly pupils and staff, 170 acres of grounds, sports pitches, a farm and woodland, all set in the heart of glorious Dorset countryside but only 2 hours from London. You will have access to all facilities, including a swimming pool, gym, golf course, mountain biking trails, horse riding and sailing.
Further details may be obtained from our website or from HR on 01258 880484 or email email@example.com. Applications must be submitted on the School’s application form. Closing date: Tuesday 28th September.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the school reserves the right to appoint prior to the closing date.
Milton Abbey School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The appointment will be the subject of an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
