Job overview

Working under the guidance of the Speech and Language Therapist, you will carry out Speech and Language Therapy recommendations to support learners with communication differences such as ASD, learning disabilities and complex needs.

You will liaise with the teaching teams and family/carers to provide a co-ordinated approach and ensure Speech and Language Therapy recommendations are integrated into each learner’s day. Monitoring therapeutic recommendations to ensure effectiveness, you will contribute and carry out Holistic support plans and prepare contributions for EHCP reviews as required.

We’d like our Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to have previous experience of working with a caseload of young adults with a wide range of communication differences and support needs. You’ll have experience of devising and implementing Speech and Language Therapy recommendations and of contributing to assessment reports or feedback for a wide audience.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team is a key part of the role. You will be able to support through the delivery of quality therapeutic recommendations, communication development, staff development and student success.

Hours: It’s a permanent, full-time position (36 hours per week and 52 weeks per year).

Location: This is a cross-site position with the main location being Kingston college
