About the role

In this role you will contribute to the high quality learning and teaching in our school by providing a collaborative and consultative speech pathology service, responsive to the school context and with a student specific focus which complements the speech pathology services provided by our School Service Centres.

This is an opportunity to be part of an innovative Student Support Services Team working with students in Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE).

Duties

  • Develop, implement and evaluate speech pathology services to promote student communication, learning and well-being outcomes
  • Optimise the quality of service outcomes in partnership with the school community
  • Maintain standards of practice and competencies consistent with Speech Pathology Australia and BCE policies and guidelines


Qualifications & Registrations

  • Minimum mandatory requirement of a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Speech Therapy/Pathology providing eligibility for practicing membership to Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
  • Certified Practicing Speech Pathology status with SPA is desirable
  • Blue Card or QCT registration

  • Demonstrated clinical competence and professional capacity to provide safe, quality services that optimise communication, learning and wellbeing outcomes for children and young people with speech language communication needs (SLCN)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively apply this knowledge and expertise within an education context
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated capacity for solutions-focussed, flexible and creative thinking
  • Well developed interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice and continuing self-directed professional growth and development
