Job overview

Opened in 2019 and located in Beldams Lane in Bishop’s Stortford, the Herts & Essex Sports Centre is a state-of-the-art facility that boasts excellent facilities including six outdoor courts, a sand-dressed astro-turf pitch, a sports hall, a dojo and a social space including a licenced bar.  The Sports Centre is used by Herts & Essex students, local partners such as Bishop’s Stortford Judo and Bishop’s Stortford Hockey Club and by members of the local community.

We are now looking to appoint a number of Sports Centre Duty Managers to join our bank of casual staff and work on a rota basis to support the day-to-day operation of the Herts & Essex Sports Centre.  Reporting to the Sports Centre General Manager, our Duty Managers are responsible for undertaking day-to-day duties such as setting up and down all equipment, sale of gym membership, managing the bookings system, reception tasks and cleaning tasks as required.  They will ensure that visitors to the centre are provided with an excellent service and ensure that their safety and wellbeing is a priority.

The role will suit those with a keen interest in the sport, health and fitness industry who are available to work shifts on a rota basis.  The Sports Centre is open 7.30am until 10.00pm Monday to Friday, 9.00am until 10.00pm on a Saturday and 9.00am until 8.00pm on a Sunday and we are looking for a number of individuals to work a variety of shifts.  Please do provide an indication of your availability in the supporting statement of your application form.
