Sports Operations Assistant (Full-time, all year round)

Sevenoaks School is currently seeking to appoint Sports Operations Assistants (Full-time, all year round).

The Sports Operations Assistants will carry out daily general leisure assistant duties for the Sports Centre of Sevenoaks School. They will ensure an effective and efficient service for both the School and the external users of the Sennocke Centre.

As a Sports Operations Assistant you will act as the shift lead to ensure that all tasks are carried out in a timely and effective manner. Some of the tasks that you will undertake are: carrying out lifeguard duties to unsure safety of the swimmers; setting up and de-rig areas and equipment in accordance with the daily programmes, checking regularly for amendments and taking action accordingly; ensuring that all fitness, sports, teaching and communal areas are prepared, safe and effective for the programme; covering departmental duties (e.g. reception) as and when required; taking accountability to ensure continuity of normal duties when the Operations Manager is absent; etc.

The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, experience of working in a customer facing environment and has a current NPLQ (or is willing to undergo training to achieve this). It is also essential to have a positive, ‘can do’ attitude, an ability to quickly acquire knowledge and a good understanding of health and safety legislation. It will be desirable for the candidate to hold a recognised industry qualification (NVQ, HND), to have experience of working in a similar role and to have a current First Aid at work certificate.
