Annual Salary £19,650 to £20,444 per annum

Actual Salary £16,807 to £17,486 per annum

37 hours per week, term time and inset days only

The Mendip Studio School is a unique and small specialist school with the curriculum, students' pastoral care, wider opportunities and personal future aspirations, at its very heart.  We have a small, but growing team and just 140 students on roll, aged 14 to 19 years, and we serve the communities of Radstock, Frome, Midsomer Norton and surrounding villages.  This appointment results from increased numbers of students joining our role in recent years.

The Mendip Studio School needs a very particular kind of staff.  As with all educators, staff need to have a heartfelt commitment to challenging and supporting students to be the best they can be, but they also need to be committed to 14 to 19 Education, with an emphasis on developing young peoples’ skills through a predominantly applied learning curriculum, ready for employment.

Working in this relatively small school environment, staff need to be resilient, adaptable and to exhibit high levels of emotional literacy and initiative.  These skills and attributes are key to all of this - a strong community bound by professional behaviours: particularly honesty and self-reflection.

The Mendip Studio School is part of the Midsomer Norton Schools’ Partnership and located on a large modern campus that benefits from exceptional facilities and a Community Sports Centre. Excitingly, in September, we will be offering the new T Level in Healthcare Science and we are uniquely well placed to do so, with these industry standard qualifications being utterly consistent with the school’s mission.  Candidates with a background or interest in Healthcare are welcome to apply, as well as those from a school-based, science or laboratory based background.
