Fixed Term Contract, Term Time Only (28.8 hours per week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday)

Joining us as Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and servicing of specialist equipment and facilities, for the preparation of materials and for providing technical support in the teaching and learning process. Working in conjunction with the teaching staff, you will plan, organise and arrange purchase of all necessary materials and resources needed for each lesson and ensure the equipment and materials for use in workshops and classrooms are prepared and available. 

This role will also include Storekeeper/Technician responsibilities within the main engineering workshop which include; handing out tools, monitoring usage, repairing tools as appropriate and maintaining records. 

Experience and qualifications are not essential – all that we ask is that you have practical capability, excellent problem solving skills and have the ability to take responsibility for your own work and for the work of other Technicians when required. We’d also like you to be flexible in your approach, diligent in meeting deadlines and be able to work well with other staff and students.

Sound knowledge of engineering practice would be a distinct advantage, as would experience of working in a school or college environment.

This position is based at Kingston College.
