About Corby Technical School and the Student Support Manager role

Corby Technical School is an outstanding free school (part of the Brooke Weston Trust) and we are seeking to appoint an outstanding Student Support Manager.  This is a new post within the school managing the school’s Student Support Services Team which ensures support is provided to targeted pupils to raise achievement and enable them to overcome barriers to learning including social, emotional and medical needs as well as supporting excellent attendance.  Communication and organisation skills are imperative as the post holder will be dealing with all stakeholders – students, parents/carers and staff.  An understanding of administration systems for schools would be advantageous.

As the Student Support Manager, you will oversee student attendance, SEMH Interventions, IHCP, detention and support our most vulnerable students to ensure they are successful in the classroom as well as liaising with parents and medical professionals in the preparation of Individual Healthcare Plans and ensuring Medical Risk Assessment information is shared with relevant personnel in school.  You will also be responsible for the management of student medical requests and first aid.  The successful candidate will support the Senior Leadership Team, communicating on student behavioural issues, assisting to develop improvement strategies and schemes to improve behaviour across the school.  This post will be both a challenging and rewarding role.

The person appointed will demonstrate a good standard of education, and be able to communicate at all levels, with students, staff and parents.   Normal working hours will be 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 – 15:30 on Friday.  There will be the need to adapt these hours on occasion to suit the needs of the school.  This is a full-time term time contract with an additional week to be worked during school holidays.
