Health Futures is an exciting new school which opened in a multi-million pound building in September 2015. We are pleased to offer an outstanding individual the opportunity to join us as we go into our fourth year and take in our next cohort of students. As a health and science focused school you can expect state of the art facilities and students who are keen to learn science in order to follow a range of careers in health and medical fields.
As a science based UTC for students interested in careers within the Health sector we have very high take up of science qualifications; ¾ of our students take Triple Science GCSE and virtually all of our post 16 students take at least one science ‘A’ level. As such, this is our largest team of teachers with an excellent range of specialist facilities to support them.
You will be an outstanding teacher of Science with a clear record of delivering exceptional results for students at all levels. You will have experience of leading teams of staff and effective curriculum development and will be excited and energised by the opportunities and challenges that this post offers. The successful candidate, with the support of the senior team, will lead an exceptional team of professionals to ensure that this central plank of our students’ education is delivered at the highest standard; taking full advantage of the technology available and ensuring that their learning is clearly linked to our Health specialism.
Established with the backing of the University of Wolverhampton and in partnership with a wide range of health sector employer partners, including all West Midlands NHS Trusts, WM Ambulance Service and the Mid-counties Co-operative Pharmacy, Health Futures is responding to the identified skills and qualification gap that is preventing aspirant young people taking up the varied and valuable career paths in this sector.
All staff are responsible for the welfare and safeguarding of our pupils, therefore, this post is subject to enhanced DBS and prohibition checks.
