Subject Leader – Art (Maternity Cover)

Full time position commencing April 2019 to cover a maternity leave

Salary – United Learning Pay Scale (competitive)

We have an opportunity for an outstanding Subject Leader of Art to join the Arts and Technology Faculty at William Hulme’s Grammar School (WHGS), Manchester’s most over-subscribed school and one of the most successful comprehensive schools in the country.  WHGS is an all-through (3-18) Academy of over 1400 pupils with a wide range of abilities, ethnicities and backgrounds.  The Academy has recently undergone a huge expansion project and has a new Sixth Form Centre, a two-form entry Primary Phase and specialist rooms in the Secondary Phase.

Reporting to the Head of Faculty, you will lead a small team and be responsible for teaching Art at Key Stages, 3, 4 and 5.  You will be an outstanding teacher, delivering consistently good and outstanding lessons, an excellent team player with the highest standards of professionalism and expectations of students. You will have up to date subject knowledge and a track record of success in maximising student progress at all Key Stages.

As well as being an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about the teaching of Art you will also need to demonstrate a commitment to the extra-curricular life of the school.  Across the school, a large range of activities (clubs, trips and visits) take place.
