Initially the post would be for a Subject Leader to cover a maternity leave, but we can guarantee that thereafter there is the need for a permanent position within the English team.

 

Settle College occupies an enviable site on the banks of the River Ribble in the market town of Settle, with outstanding views of the surrounding area and bordering the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

We are looking to recruit a highly qualified and enthusiastic teacher to lead the English department and to teach English up to A-Level standard. The English department is situated in the purpose-built Bradley Building, housing Mathematics and English. It runs very popular and successful courses throughout the school up to Further Mathematics A-Level.

 

The successful individual will be an inspirational and innovative teacher and a leader with a passion and desire to achieve outstanding results and build on the current success of the department. They will be a person who wishes to make use of this fantastic opportunity to further their career within a good school where English has a strong profile.

 

The role will include developing and communicating a clear vision, and providing leadership and management within the subject area. Our students enjoy the challenge of enquiry and have high levels of reasoning skills.
